Many patients feel anxious prior to a surgical procedure. This is completely normal, and the surgical staff at Oral Surgery & Dental Implant Center of Panama City want to ensure you feel as comfortable as possible for your procedure. That is why we offer many options for sedation when you undergo any oral surgical procedure with us. The method used depends on the preference of the patient and the nature of the surgical procedure.
Are oral surgeons qualified to administer anesthesia?
Yes! In order to become an oral and maxillofacial surgeon, Dr. Claussen was required to undergo extensive training and gain valuable experience in the medical field, performing anesthesia before he began practicing at Oral Surgery & Dental Implant Center of Panama City. This training and hands-on experience includes administering anesthesia in hospital operating rooms as well as in-office anesthesia in specialty facilities. He has received the highest level of licensure for dental practitioners in order to perform anesthesia, which allows him to perform deep sleep or general anesthesia, unlike any general dentists.
